More Recce’s?
Recce runs for the Devil’s Burden are now in full swing and many club members have made it along to our regular Saturday morning excursions. Most agree it is a rewarding alternative to pounding tarmac and a damned good workout as well!
The Carnegie Hillbillies are therefore planning to continue these informal sessions and venture further afield to show club members some of the more popular hill race routes. Suggestions so far include: Carnethy 5, Maddy Moss, Norman’s Law, Dollar, building up to longer routes like Stuc a Chroin, Pentland Skyline and of course route recce’s for team events later in the year like Cateran Trail and Comrie Hills Relay races.
We may even include some training sessions to help promote strength and fitness for running hills and provide some tuition on navigation and hillcraft.
What do you think? Post your feedback and suggestions.

Bit of a combination recce/race suggestion - how about the Lairig Mor race? It’s about 13m along the closing section of the West Higlhand Way. Nice short jaunt for those doing the full thing or the Devil O’ the Highlands race perhaps?

Like the sound of that. What about a date for the Carnethy 5 recce of either 3rd or 4th Feb?

With all the races etc comming up time is short to fit a recce in. I’m thinking about going round Carnethy the day after Devil’s Burden (28th). Anyone interested? Could meet up at Powerleague to car share, leaving by 10am?
