Carnegie Hillbillies Hill Running Grand Prix Results
Congratulations to Steven King and Alison West who are our 2009 Hill Running Grand Prix champions. Our popular series of hill races saw a huge turnout of 60 club members take part in this year’s Grand Prix which featured 15 events with the best 9 to count. The opening event was back in February at the Carnethy 5 and it reached its conclusion at the Tinto Hill Race on Saturday afternoon.
Steven King has been in great shape on the hills this year and wins the men’s Grand Prix title with 420 points. Allan Macaulay has also enjoyed a superb season and he places 2nd male overall with 406 points with our hill running captain Andy Sim finishing 3rd male with 400 points. The M40 award has been won by Alan Manson who placed 4th overall on 395 points and Phil Smithard was the leading M50 (13th overall) on 210 points.
Very well done to Alison West who is our ladies Grand Prix winner with 442 points. This is Alison’s 10th Hill Running Grand Prix ladies title having first won the Grand Prix back in 1995! Morna Fleming places 2nd lady on 425 points and Fabienne Thompson is 3rd lady with 349 points. The F40 award has been won by Helena Sim (7th overall) on 142 points and the F50 award by Isobel Burnett on 144 points (6th overall).
The hill running awards will be presented at the King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline on Sunday 6th December at our annual awards evening.
