Carnethy 5 - Photos

A fine day indeed! A bit hot, in fact, for those who like it around zero degree. Photos (still to come - since I have not succeeded in inserting them) should show some of the Five beasties to be tackled, the team of Carnegie artists (minus those too busy trying to get tips from Angela Mudge, or hoping to catch the last bus to the Start) about to tackle them and the exceptionally blue sky. The photos will not show Morna’s very close encounter with nature BEFORE the race, or Laura’s scream of joy as she completed her very first Hill Race. The results are well worth glancing at with our top men well up there with many famous names of the Hill Racing scene. Another splendid performance, courtesy of Carnegie Hillbillies!

Carnethy 5 Recce

Well done to the 5 Hillbillies that braved the gale force winds on top of the Pentland Hills on Sunday. George, Steven, Andrew, Helena and Morna found the conditions challenging (especially following the exertions of the Devil’s Burdens Race the previous day) and that the approach to most summits was best achieved on their hands and knees with the run culminating in a fun descent down the scree off Carnethy (well the boys enjoyed it! but the girls endured it!!). All agreed that the run was worth the effort, preparing the way for a more determined assualt on the course come race day.
