</span></strong>Carnegie Harrier <strong>Andy Symonds</strong> teamed up with  <strong>Jethro Lennox</strong> (Shettleston) to contest the <strong>Björkliden Arctic Mountain  Marathon</strong> in Sweden last weekend. The<span style="display: inline;"> 70km race is a two-day mountain orienteering event  where two-person teams spend the night on the mountain. Björkliden is situated  124 miles north of the Artic circle.Andy and Jethro who represented the SAAB Salomon team in the race excelled  once again to win the event in 14 hours 26 mins 48 secs.</span></div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Andy Symonds won Saturday&#8217;s Ben Rinnes Hill Race in 1.56.55. <p>Richie Cunningham finished 13th in 2.17.05 and Fabienne Thompson was 6th lady overall in 2.54.05. Lynne Bennet reached the finish at the Dufftown Highland Games showground in 3.01.09, Andy Sim was 71st in 3.10.07 and Alison West was 3rd F50 in 3.14.28.</p>

<p align="left">We were rewarded by great weather and a well organised race, new course records with a great feed at the end. Perhaps a theme emerging here. Thanks to Adam Anderson of Carnethy the race organiser for a great race and loads of cakes.</p>

<p>The registration and cake eating were both in an old church and the latter sitting amongst the headstones of the graveyard. Quite symbolic.</p>
<p>There was a record race entry of 300. Normally it is a much smaller field.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The first Thursday night off road run of the year (since the clocks have gone forward) is planned for 03/04/08.  The plan is to set off from Blairadam Forest Main Car Park at 7pm for an easy 6ish mile hilly run through the forest.  I look forward to seeing you there.</p>

It  is by Dave Macleod, not only the best rock climber in Scotland today,  but also one of the world’s most accomplished climbers.  You may remember  there was a programme on BBC in the latter part of 2007 about him and his climb  up Hell’s Lum Crag in the Cairngorms.  Tickets are priced at only £4 and  are available from Summits in Dunfermline and  on the door on the night subject to availability.  It promises to be a  great evening.</span></font></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font size="2">Spotted in Kinloch Rannoch</font><font size="2"> by our Roving ReporterThe Kinloch Rannoch Games took place on Saturday under miserable conditions, with constant driving rain making going soft underfoot. Not to be put down, the competitors lined up for the short hill race up a local brae.</p>
<p>Looking more closely a Carnegie vest was spotted in the line up. This reporter didn&#8217;t hang around to see the end of the race, as getting wetter on the inside than the already drenched outside proved more important on the day.</p>
