SUNDAY TRAINING RUNS
Please find details from Ian Johnston (Mens Club Captain) regarding planned Sunday training runs over the next four weekends;
The “Devils Burden” Relay Race takes place on Saturday January 24th 2009. In previous years it was found that being familiar with the surroundings and terrain of this race helped Runners on race day. To this end I plan to organise training runs of Leg 1 and Leg 3 during November. Leg 2 and Leg 4 will be addressed during December and will take 1 hour 30 minutes each. This leaves January to go over the routes again, though their will probably be different groups out then on different parts of the course.
Sunday 30th November – Leg 3:- Meet at Strathmiglo Village Hall at 9.30am. From here we will car share to Scotlandwell. The route back will take 2 hours 30 minutes. We will then car share back to Scotlandwell.
Sunday 7th December – Recce run of the The Law Breaker Hill Race route in Tillicoultry. Please meet at Tillicoultry Glen at 9.30am. There will be an option for a longer run for those who wish to run a bit further.
Fell type shoes are a must for these runs. Also full body cover is recommended as the weather can close in over the high parts of these trails. A hat and gloves are advisable. Recovery drink, bar or gel helps keep your energy levels up.
Sunday 14th December – Recce Run of our Festive Forest Run course at Blairadam Forest near Kelty. Please meet at 10am at the Forest Race start which is the Lochornie entrance on the B914 Cleish road. Trail shoes are preferable but road shoes will suffice.
