Two Breweries Race profile

Richie , Pete, Neil,Tom and Fabienne made the trip to take on the 19 miles and 5000 ft of climbing.  The 2 Breweries is a one way race so we got a bus to the start and then ran back. The weather was clear and sunny but not too hot. Richie Cunningham  had a good race placing 9th. Neil Campbell carried on his string of PB’s  going sub 4 hrs and taking 26 minutes off his time.    A great race and beer at the end which is a rare treat.

From Elsie and Peter Baxter:

Oh Lord! – thank for such wonderful: weather, Marshalls, Moffat Mountain Rescue, Landowners, Carl and Nichol in the Kitchen and of course the runners.

A special mention to Alastair from Broughton Brewery, who has retired this year to be replaced by Chris his son. I expect we’ll see him for a few years yet!

A field of 150 starters had a wonderful (?) day, if a little cool, to complete the 27th Two Breweries Race.

The job of Chief Dogsbody is made so much easier when surrounded by a competent team, and this race must exemplify this fact.

Nine Marshall teams and MMR ensured the safe passage of runners, and took care of the few who fell along the way. To those who missed the firebreak on Whitelaw Hill – We will speak to the landowner and try and hack a few branches down…

A big thanks to the Breweries and Adrian from Run and Become for all of the support, and the bus folk (Stuarts of Carluke & Linda!) who put up with the ever increasing requests for bigger buses!

Congratulations to Murray Strain and Andrea Preistley and our other prize winners. Excellent runs despite the stiff breeze.

Many Thanks to you all.
